August Events in Cleveland
August in Cleveland is a busy time with lots of events and festivals taking place throughout the entire month. Each event has a variety of activities to partake in, with fun for the whole family. Here are some great events/festivals to consider attending:
The Cuyahoga County Fair is being held at the Cuyahoga County Fair Grounds in Berea. This event takes place from August 7th to August 12th. The Fair offers foods, rides, special events and shows, and animals galore. On August 7th there will be BOGO (Buy One Get One) fair admission for all ages. Wednesday and Thursday, they are offering $1 admission before 3pm and half-priced ride stamps before 3pm! Friday is a senior and veteran day with $2 admission until 5pm. Lastly, Saturday is $2 admission between 10am and noon in celebration of family morning at the fair.
The Feast of the Assumption is taking place in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood. This event is taking place from August 15th to August 18th. For this event streets are shut down and all the family-owned Italian eateries bring their menus to the streets. More than 100,000 people attend this event each year just to get a taste! In addition to great food there is plenty of music, dancing, artwork, and rides.
The Great Lakes Burning River Fest is returning to Cleveland on August 17th and 18th. This event is located at the historic coast guard station on Whiskey Island. It is a beautiful waterfront musical, beer, and community-filled event. They have a full line up of musicians planned which can be viewed at their website; https://burningriverfest.org/music-line-up. Tickets to this event are available online or for $15 at the gate.
This Cleveland Garlic Festival is coming back to Cleveland on August 25th and 26th this year. The festival includes top chef grill offs, miss garlic 2018 contest, food/drinks, and of course is loaded with garlic. It is completed with live music and entertainment as well as a kids area, making it a very family friendly event. The festival is taking place at 13111 Shaker Square in Cleveland.
Rounding out the end of August is the Cleveland Labor Day Oktoberfest. This event takes place from August 31st to September 3rd. It takes located at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea. Free parking is included in this event and free admission for kids 12 and under. This event is packed with music, food, fireworks, and of course beer.
