Back to School: Tips to Prepare
Going back to school can be just as hard on parents as it is the kids. And, if we're being honest, preparing your children to get back into the school groove is never an easy task... Especially after a fun-filled summer! Whether you're preparing for a child to enter into high school or sending your first born off to pre-school, we have some tips to help all you parents prepare for back to school time!
1. Make sure your little ones have all the supplies needed to succeed in their classes. This can be pencils, paper, a calculator, or even studying skills and homework time to receive better results this school year. Buying all of these back to school items can get pricey, so be sure to shop the deals!
2. Need to buy a little more than just the required school supplies? As your children get older, their education levels do too. Dorm rooms and meal plans for college education are often costly, so saving up now can help financially for when that time approaches!
3. Great communication between you and your children can go a very long way. Try asking your kids if they understand their assigned subjects and tasks completely so you can get a better sense of what will help them as they progress in their education.
4. Easing into a routine with your kids can make it easier on you (and them!) when it comes to getting up for school. Having a daily routine tends to make everyone feel more comfortable with back to school changes. Try setting everyone's alarm clocks to the same time and having breakfast at the same time each morning to ease back into things.
5. Meet the new teachers before school starts if you can. Some children may be scared or anxious heading back to school, so meeting them before hand can break the ice between them and your children!
6. Changing schools this year? That can be stressful! Try touring the school with your kids a few days before school starts to calm any nerves. This way, everyone knows where they're headed on the first day!
7. Seeing a familiar face in class or the hallways can make a big difference when heading back to school. Arrange play dates with your kids' friends from last year to refresh the friendship before school starts up again!
